As Saturday Night fades back into viewing we see David Flair walking backstage. Flair is in his wrestling gear plus a sweat shirt. The young Flair looks quite a bit aggitated. As he walks he's suddenly approached by Jeremy Borash.
.::Jeremy Borash::.
"David? Can I have a moment?"
.::David Flair::.
"Sure, Jeremy. I'm suprised you have one actually. It looks like Brocks been monopolising the time tonight."
"We have heard alot from the tv champ tonight. He seems pretty confident in himself and about giving you an....ass whipping...as he said."
David grins slightly. The first time tonight we've actually seen him do that. He nods a little and then starts to speak.
.::David Flair::.
"Well, JB, what can you say about Lesnar? So far I've seen him either in the ring or snagging an interviewer to say the same thing over and over again about four times already. He's said how he's going to beat me again tonight. He's said that I've "whined" about losing to him. He's said I've begged for a title match. And he's said he's going to beat me worse than anyone ever has. With all that being said, and mind you, that's alot of talking for Brock Lesnar, I just have to wonder who he's trying to convince.
Heh, I mean he's not convincing me. Is he convincing you? The fans? Who is he trying to convince?"
Borash shrugs and looks into the camera. Flair smirks, showing a glance reminiscent of his father.
.::David Flair::.
"The only thing I can think of is that he's trying to convince himself.
Brock, you can run your mouth all night long if you want. You can talk the talk, but like my old man use to say, can you walk the walk? As a matter of fact, you've been running your mouth alot about my father. I want to get some things straight JB. Just because it comes out of Brock's mouth doesn't mean it's fact. Lesnar's one of those guys who's got a grade A body, all built up. But his brain is the size of a pea. Some things get a little jumbled up there. Brock talks about me being trained by my dad, Ric Flair. Well Brock, maybe this is a news flash to you, but I've trained with the best around the world. Carlos Colon, Keiji Mutoh, the Horsemen, Paul Orndorff, I've trained in the mid south territories, and I've trained at home in Charlotte with guys like George South and Tully Blanchard. Out styles...are completely different. I've trained with some of the greatest wrestlers that's ever graced this earth.
Now Brock wants to talk about playing dirty. He says I'm embarassed I lost to him because he cheated. Well Brock, since my return to WCW I haven't won a match by bending the rules. You can try to glorify your win anyway you want. The facts are the same no matter what. You cheated to beat me and that means one of two things. You either knew you couldn't get the job done, or you were scared. You can try and smooth it over saying that Ric Flair's he dirtiest player in the game. That's fine with me. But I'm not Ric Flair. But if that's how you want to play the game Brock, I can play by those rules. Anytime you want to put the title on the line, no holds barred, I'm ready."
.::Jeremy Borash::.
"Speaking of a title match, Brock's said you begged James J Dillon for a match."
.::David Flair::.
"You know, I'm not sure where Brock gets his ideas from. He must be reading the local super market tabloids. JJ and myself have a purely platonic relationship. It's true he use to manage my father and the horsemen, and it is true he's offered me help in the past. But where I'm at in my career right now I have something to prove. I don't want help from anyone to get me to the top. I don't need to pull tights or use a pair of brass knuckles to win a match. I'm here to make a testimony to my own skill as a professional. And JB, a professional is something Mister Lesnar knows nothing about."
.::Jeremy Borash::.
"The fans are geared up for this match tonight. There's alot of people cheering for you and Brock out there. What's it feel like going into this match?"
.::David Flair::.
"Well, to be honest it feels great. Lesnar's a big time opponent and he can do great things in the ring. The fans are behind him so it makes it that much more special to me. I appreciate the fans support that are rallying behind me as well. And I'd like to go out there tonight and give them a match to remember. With that being said, at the same time I'm a bit disappointed in Brock. I excpected more out him. You've got a guy that has a huge collegiate background, a mixed martial arts background, a former champion. He's wrestled everywhere. And for a guy that's six foot two and two hundred and seventy pounds, I expected a big competitve straight up match from. I haven't expected Lesnar to twist facts around. I expected a little bit of respect and alot of sportsmanship."
.::Jeremy Borash::.
"Well, David, it sounds like anyway you look at it, you're going into this match prepared. Good luck out there tonight."
.::David Flair::.
"Thanks Jeremy."
Borash and Flair shake hands as the scene fades back out to the arena.
