WCW Saturday Night comes back from a commercial break. The scene fades into the backstage area as we see David Flair getting ready for his match up. Dave's wearing a black shirt and his ring gear. David turns around just as Teddy Hart passes by, giving him a smug look of disdain. David doesn't give it much thought though as his mind is focused on his match later tonight. He checks his wrist tape as he's quickly approached.
Flair looks up as JJ Dillon walks up to him. Dillon has a big grin on his face as he walks with his arms open.
::JJ Dillon:: "David! It's good to see you. You looked good out there last week."
::David Flair:: "Thanks JJ."
David looks down a moment as Dillon shakes his hand.
::JJ Dillon:: "Your father would be proud. And he'll be even more proud tonight."
::David Flair:: "Thanks JJ. Brock's gonna be a big notch on my belt."
::JJ Dillon:: "Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about David. You know I was always there for Ric. Whether it be advice, managerial duties, overseeing certain aspects of business, I was there and it made things a whole lot easier for him."
David holds his hand up and backs away from Dillon; who's had his arm around the young Flair.
::David Flair:: "JJ, thanks... but no thanks. I'll be fine on my own."
Dillon tries to interrupt but David continues talking.
::David Flair:: "I know what you did for my dad and the horsemen. And I know how detrementle you were to that process. But I'm trying to prove a point not just to the world, but to myself. JJ, I'm a Flair by God. And in this business that means alot of things."
::JJ Dillon:: "I know David, but just hear me out. Brock Lesnar is a monster.."
::David Flair:: "How many times do I have to hear that? How many times do I have to hear people laugh at the name David Flair? By God JJ, I'm gonna prove it to you, to Brock, and to the rest of the world that when your name is Flair, you're the king of the world. Now, you can just remember me when I first stepped into the ring, or you can step back and watch and learn."
::JJ Dillon:: "But David -"
::David Flair:: "But nothing. I'm a man, I'm standing on my own two feet. And sink or swim, I'm walking out of this title tournament with my head held up high. The only thing I need in that ring tonight is myself. Whether you were there, or the horsemen, or you weren't, my father always did fine. Think about that JJ. If he did fine on his own, I can too."
::JJ Dillon:: "Alright. Fine. Have it your way David. But don't even think about crying to me."
::David Flair:: "Heh, that's one thing you won't have to worry about."
Dillon storms off as David Flair stands there with his hands on his hips. Flair stares as Dillon marches away with a confident look in his eyes and the scene fades out.
