The scene fades in as WCW Saturday Night continues. The camera is close up on Ted Dibiase, Jr's face as he rubs his chin, head thingyed back. As the camera pans out we see Jeremy Borash standing beside him with a microphone. A few seconds pass and Borash raises the microphone up.
"Fans, I'm standing here with world television title hopeful Ted Dibiase. Ted, last week we saw you defeat Val Venis with ease. But tonight you'll be facing off against not just one, but three opponents on your quest for championship material."
"JB, it's pretty simple. The last twenty three years of my life has been prepping for this moment. As a matter of fact, the last twenty three years the wrestling business has been waiting for a star like myself to become known. There isn't a man in this sport today with the raw God given talent like myself. Take a long look JB..."
Dibiase snaps his head at Borash and steps back.
"Not that long. I don't want you getting any ideas. The point is this, I'm the best looking, the most athletic, and the greatest mat technician this sport has ever seen. Does it look like I'm worried at all that I'm not in a one on one match tonight? No. It doesn't matter who gets tossed into that ring with me. I'll take Balls Mahoney...Howie Banks...and Teddy Hart to their limit and back again. And I can do it because I am a Dibiase."
"I was wanting to touch on that subject. As I'm sure everyone who's heard your name realizes just who your father is. A legend in his own right and one of the best wrestlers in the world."
"Seriously, stop embarassing yourself JB. My father was the best wrestler of his time. There's no doubt about it. And now, it's my turn.
Let me just give you a bit of insight. I've grown up in the lap of luxury. The fastest cars, the sexiest women, the finest dining. When I walk into the top restaurant in a city, it's "right this way Mr. Dibiase". When I fly into Houston, Detroit, Chicago, or L.A. there's a limo waiting for me when I land. When I walk into a casino in Vegas I'm greeted by the owner. You are looking at the high roller of the wrestling world. What I want, I get. It's that simple.
And when I step into the squared circle, I want to win. I want to make my opponents look like rejects. And that's exactly what I do.
Balls Mahoney? I fired a guy just like Balls from doing my lawn. I can hire five mexicans to do the job that a fat out of shape New Jersey jackass can't. Mahoney is just a lazy piece of trailre trash. He can run around and talk about playing in bingo halls all he wants. But the facts are straight, bingo halls are the only thing his future holds. Whether it's wrestling in them, or trying to make a cheap buck off a couple of grandmas.
Teddy Hart. I'm sure you've heard the exact same thing the world has. The self preservations of the Hart family rests firmly with the black sheep. Teddy is unreliable. He's a loose cannon. And what that means is that he's a liability. And he's the biggest liability to himself. He can do all those acrobats all he wants, but the only thing that's in Teddy's future is falling flat on his face.
As for Howie Banks. The guy has potential. But unfortunately he's decided he wants to tests wits with me. Ya might be a wealthy Hollywood brat, but you're not filthy rich. How can I put it so you'll understand JB. The Fresh Prince would be shining JR's shoes if you catch my drift.
Tonight, you just may see something you haven't in a long time. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get what I want. And that means only one thing JB, when there's something I want, you can bet your bottom dollar, I get it."
Borash looks on as Dibiase grins. The scene fades back into the arena where the announcers are waiting.
